Graston Technique In Centennial, CO

Dr. Ryan performing the Graston technique

Graston Technique® (GT) is non-invasive soft tissue therapy that utilizes specifically designed tools to detect and treat areas of soft tissue injury. In the process of healing from soft tissue injuries such as sprains/strains of muscle fibers or ligaments, the body produces scar tissue to stabilize the area and prevent further damage. However, this process often leads to residual adhesions that reduce the flexibility of the damaged tissue. In many cases, this reduction in flexibility will result in dysfunction and pain. This is the root cause for many common conditions such as carpal tunnel and plantar fasciitis.

Through gentle mechanical stimulation, this unique therapy allows the clinician to identify and gradually remove tissue adhesions which will restore proper tissue function and facilitate a reduction in pain. After the treatment, stretching exercises are provided to foster continued loosening of the tissue and to provide re-education of proper muscle contraction patterns.

There are over 21,000 chiropractors, occupational therapists, and physical therapists that are certified in Graston Technique®. It is also utilized by 366 amateur and professional sports organizations.
